유도원은 서울대학교 작곡과 학사, 네덜란드 헤이그 왕립음악학교에서 석사 졸업 및 전자음악과정(Sonology Course)을 이수하였고, 영국 런던대학교(Royal Holloway, University of London)에서 연구석사, 독일 바이마르 국립음대에서 콘체르트엑자멘(Konzertexamen) 과정을 졸업하였다. 일신문화재단과 서울스프링실내악축제 주최로 제 2회 일신작곡가상을 수상하였으며, 벨기에 ISCM World Music Days 2012, 일본 2011 Tokyo Asian Music Festival, 대만 29th ACL Conference and Festival, 독일 XI. Weimarer Fruehjahrstage fuer zeitgenossische Musik 과 1. Saarbrücker Tage für elektroakustische und visuelle Musik (2014), International Ensemble Modern Academy 등에서 입선 및 초청연주를 하였다. 2012년 서울스프링실내악축제 상임작곡가로 활동하였으며 현재 삼육대 · 서울대 · 성신여대 · 수원대 · 한양대에 출강하고 있다.

 

 

He obtained his Bachelor's degree in composition from Seoul National University in South Korea. He subsequently completed the Master of Music in composition and Sonology Course at Royal Conservatory in the Netherlands, and he completed another Master study at Royal Holloway, University of London in England. After that, he graduated Konzertexamen in composition at Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar in Germany. His works were selected and awarded in many festivals and competitions such as XI. Weimarer Fruehjahrstage fuer zeitgenossische Musik, 1. Saarbrücker Tage für elektroakustische und visuelle Musik Asian Music Festival 2011 in Tokyo, 29th ACL Conference and Festival, 2012 ISCM World New Music Days in Belgium and 2012 Seoul Spring Festival Ilshin Prize. He also received commissions from Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation in Korea, and collaborated with Ensemble Modern, International Ensemble Modern Academy in Germany and TIMF Ensemble in Korea. He was composer in residence in 2012 Seoul Spring Festival, and currently teaches composition and theory in several universities in Korea.
